Make Your Own Tinted Foundation

Mix 1 part foundation + 1 part moisturizer + 1 part sunscreen on the back of your hand.  Blend well and apply with a foundation brush.  Lightly powder as needed.  Adjust sheerness as needed by adding more or less foundation.

If you are oily, skip the moisturizer and simply blend 1 part foundation (oil free) + 1 part sunscreen.

Do not premix.

Amy, How do you do that with the powder mineral foundation?

  2. Hi Christy,

You can't with a powder mineral foundation. But the good news is that most powder minerals have an SPF already in the powder. So you will still get the sun protection.

If you have a liquid mineral foundation, you can lighten it up by adding a touch of a light weight moisturizer or even a makeup primer. I find that many liquid minerals are a little too opaque for my taste, that's why I like to lighten them up!

    Hope that helps!
